This is it! The Holy Grail "most wanted" Vernor's piece for me. This is a bronze building plaque from the bottling plant at the foot of Woodward. It was demolished in 1954 to make way for a riverfront civic center. I know some of these survived. I want one!
Very early Vernor's sign. I think it may be printed on canvas, not tin. It's possible none have survived the years. But, you never know. Anybody have one of these they want to sell?
What a great photo and a very cool Vernor's sign is captured in it. You can see a portion of the sign is missing between the dog and the girl. I believe the sign is made out of canvas, not metal. That may mean none of these survived. However, maybe they did. If you know about even a piece of one, I'd be interested.
This is another early Vernor's canvas sign. The photo is too blurry to see all the wording. It does say "For Sale Here" at the bottom. There were a couple different versions of these early signs. It doesn't matter what it says - I want it!
You may be wondering what's in this photo! Two cool Vernor's ads, that's what! Near the bottom is a large early Vernor's "wholesome nourishing drink" sign and near the top is a smaller sign featuring an early Vernor's bottle. Want them both!
This is another very early Vernor's sign. It's probably tin, but can't be sure. The round part is probably the VGA logo used on early bottle caps. Want it very badly!
Oh, boy! Very cool Vernor's sign that doesn't even say Vernor's on it! This was on the counter of the Vernor's Soda Fountain at the foot of Woodward in Detroit. It might be cardboard. It might be tin over cardboard. It might be tin. Not sure. I want it! Bad!
Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow! Is this the coolest sign ever? Yes it is! Love the "Detroit's Drink". Love the old style logo. Love everything about it. Want it a lot!
I think this is the second coolest "Detroit's Drink" I've ever seen. Or, in this case - never seen. It's a bottle topper. It's cardboard. It's awesome! I want it sooooo much!
Not the most compelling subject matter for an advertisement. However, it has the "Detroit's Drink" slogan on it. Anything with "Detroit's Drink" is wanted. (except embossed bottles that no longer have their paper label.)
This sign hung above the cash register at the Vernor's Soda Fountain at the foot of Woodward in Detroit. It may be one of a kind. Not sure what material it's made from. But, wow, what a cool sign. It goes very high on my want list.
What you're looking at is a newspaper ad that I have in my collection. However, the ad refers to a small sign with a woman. It's very hard to see, but you get the general idea. Would look great in my collection!
Flowers? I must have the wrong Vernor. Nope! In the early days he was pharmacist, florist, cigar salesman, and ginger ale maker. Anything about James Vernor Florist is wanted.
Yes, this photo is upside down. But, that's so you can see the box right side up. Would love to have a Vernor's Extract Crate!
This is a very early Vernor's extract can. I have never seen Vernor's extract in anything other than bottles. Getting a can would be incredible! Want it! Want It!
This is the much more common extract bottle. However, what's not common is the paper label. Any Vernor's extract bottles with paper labels are wanted!!!
This is the first paper label used when Vernor's was bottled around 1910. Any bottle with this paper label is wanted, wanted, wanted!
Someone actually asked me: "You want THAT sign?" Yes! It may be beat up, but it's an early logo. The closer the V gets to the N the earlier it is and the more I want it!
This is a great advertisement from a Detroit trolley. It could be double-sided. It's probably made of cardboard. Wanted!
Wow! What a beautiful ad! It's so creative to have the Vernor's glass turn into a champagne glass in the shadow. Would love to have this.
This is an early piece of Vernor's advertising. We sometimes forget that Vernor's had stores across the midwest and Canada. This box came from a Canadian store and you bought ice cream bars in it. I would love to have that!
Very cool ad for Hot Vernor's. The gnome is sledding down a hill on a barrel. Looks like it's an easel back cardboard.
Not sure exactly what this is as I've only seen this photo. Probably a cardboard easel-back counter piece. It's awesome and I'd love to have one!
Looking for this very cool lithograph of a young football player. Awesome advertisement!
Great graphics! Fantastic lithograph. I would love to have this in my collection.
Everything about this advertisement is great. I especially love the old glass dispenser in it. This would be a lithograph on cardboard. Mmmmm, want one!
This is a fantastic Vernor's lithograph on cardboard. So colorful and so cool. So not in my collection yet. It should be!
We can only see part of the big sign in the middle. She's a drum major leading a band. Her band looks like two gnomes! It also looks like there are two smaller versions of a similar sign to each side of the big one. I want both the big and small signs!
This is a sign on the outside of a Detroit trolley car. There's not much going on graphically. But, still looks cool and might even have a background that looks like wood.
The Arcadia brand was produced by Vernor's right after Prohibition ended. The sparkling water and dry ginger ale were made as mixers. Anything Arcadia is wanted!
There are Arcadia bottels, but there are also Arcadia signs. Any Arcadia by Vernor signs are wanted A LOT!!
Here's another Arcadia by Vernor sign in the WANTED A LOT category. Very cool!
This sign goes with the previous sign and should be in a wood frame. Vernor's Club members know of over 20 different cardboard sins that fit into the wood frames. I have a bunch of them - but not this one. Would love to add it to my collection.
This is another of the cardboard signs in wood frames. It is also another example of one I don't have and need to get. Very wanted!
This is a very different sign and I don't know the story. It was a "Buy It Now" on eBay and I missed it. It seems odd, and possibly illegal, for Vernor's to advertise alcohol. So, it's possible this is a hand painted sign made for some sort of company party. It is in an "official" Vernor's frame. Want it!
This is yet another example of the cardboard sign in wood frame series. It’s hard to see because the photo is so bad. But, looks like a young couple having a picnic and a large, leaning Vernor’s bottle to the left.
If I understand this sign correctly, the woman is holding a real six pack! In other words, this is a cardboard advertisement that somehow has fingers that come out to make it look like she's holding it. So cool! Want it bad!
This is a large cardboard easel-back sign. Although tough to find wall space for it, I'll figure it out if you find one for me!
This is a newspaper ad that I have in my collection. But, it makes me wonder if the same ad exists in cardboard or tin over cardboard. I would love to have it in something other than newspaper.
I have this sign. But, as you can tell, it has a few condition issues! I would love to find this in better condition. Even slightly better condition than this would be great.
This looks like it's some sort of semi-portable Vernor's stand. Maybe they took these to fairs and trade shows. Whatever the use, I'd love to find the bottom part of it. Wanted!
Isn't this an awesome Vernor's dispenser! I love it! It's possible the logo and background are in blue, not the familiar green and yellow. Wanted!!!
This is a thermometer top to a dispenser. I have the dispenser portion. But, I would love to find this top for it. If you have one, you know the number: 248-892-6896. Call me!
This is a very blurry photo, but you can still make out a great Vernor's counter top - looks like light-up - advertisement. Even blurry it looks amazing. Would love to see one in person - and have it be part of my collection!
This is a smaller paper sign that comes from Canada. I love the graphics on it. Seems like there should be one out there somewhere!
This is a big cardboard sign and I love it! I love seeing the gnome flying through the air. Is he going to land in the glass of Vernor's? If I had the sign, maybe I could find out. I really want this one. It's awesome!
This looks like an early paper label bottle. It is - but it's also just half a bottle and it's attached to a delivery truck. This bottle is probably 3' high! Would love to have one.
This sign is about 24' high by 18" wide. It is tin over cardboard. You can see a large glass of Vernor's. Near the bottom of the sign are a bunch of Vernor's gnomes dancing! Want this badly!
This is amazing! This is a festoon. I don't know anyone who has seen a Vernor's festoon in person. Although hard to see in this photo, there's a couple sipping a bottle of Vernor's through two straws. I would love to see one hanging in my collection!
Here are two more amazing festoons! These you can see more clearly. Absolutely beautiful! Would love to find ANY Vernor's festoon!
This is the first of three lovely cardboard Vernor's ladies. I've known about them for decades, but have only seen one example of each sign. I would love to have one in any condition.
This is the second, and my favorite, of the three lovely cardboard Vernor's ladies. Great graphics. Great sign. Would look great in my collection!
Last, but not least, is the third lovely cardboard Vernor's lady. Great sign made just a little bit better because of the 75th anniversary logo at the bottom of the sign. Want it!
I have a six-pack Vernor's sign, but it has some condition issues. (The one shown isn't my sign!) I'd love to upgrade. This is a tin sign and it was made in two different sizes.
I missed getting this sign by about a minutes many years ago at the Indy Ad Show. It's a large cardboard sign. The gnome has a strong leg to kick a barrel through the uprights! Would love to have this in my collection!
I'm pretty sure this was a generic Santa sign that Vernor's added their logo and slogan. But, still very cool and still not in my collection.
Whoa! Gotta love the logo in red! This is a small tin over cardboard sign. I've seen one in person, but have never hung one at my house. I'd like to fix that! Wanted!
This very well may be the most amazing Vernor's advertisement of all time. It's an entire three-dimensional scene with gnomes taking care of barrels of Vernor's. Wow! So cool! I really, really want that!
This is a fantastic cardboard easel-back advertisement. Great graphics. Would love to have this in my collection.
The next several items are all counter cards. Some are small. Some are larger. They probably had easel-backs and were most likely cardboard. Would love to have any, or all, of them!
Here is another counter card. Some one is small. It was probably an easel-back and was most likely cardboard. Would love to have any, or all, of them!
Another small counter card. This one is so familiar with the gnome sitting on a barrel. They probably had easel-backs and were most likely cardboard. Would love to have any, or all, of them!
Another small counter card. You have to love the graphics with the gnome jumping over a barrel. They probably had easel-backs and were most likely cardboard. Would love to have any, or all, of them!
Here is another small counter card. Everyone knows the gnomes made the secret extract and protected it. Here they add a "Don't Open for 4 Years" note! Fantastic! They probably had easel-backs and were most likely cardboard. Would love to have any, or all, of them!
This is a larger counter card. This time, the gnome is a chef. They probably had easel-backs and were most likely cardboard. Would love to have any, or all, of them!
This is a large counter card. Love the big gnome! They probably had easel-backs and were most likely cardboard. Would love to have any, or all, of them! Great sign!
Here's another larger counter card. The subject matter isn't the most compelling. But, I still like it. They probably had easel-backs and were most likely cardboard. Would love to have any, or all, of them!
Sadly, I have half of this sign. I have the woman but don't have the rest of the sign. Someone cut it in half. maybe it had some water damage. But, I would still have wanted the whole thing. So, still looking for a whole one of these!
This is pretty cool. I've never seen one of these in person. It's a double-sided stick-out fiber board sign. Love it!
I'm trying to figure out what this is. I know it's a cardboard piece that somehow attached to a six pack. but, how? I guess I'll just have to get one and find out! Wanted!
This is really tough to see. Sorry! You can kind of make out a Vernor's Cooler sign. As popular as Vernor's Boston Coolers were, there was very little advertising. So, ANY Cooler or Boston Cooler advertising is wanted.
I have a couple employee badges. (These aren't mine.) But, someone obviously has many more than I do. I could use a few more.
Most of the time I see this sign it's huge. Not big - HUGE! This sign was a billboard and also made for the side of a truck. If anyone finds a smaller one, I'd be interested.
My guess is the "Shake Up" part of this advertisement is a sticker. So, we're just looking at the big glass of Vernor's and ice cream. Great sign. Want it!
This is a rack topper. Most of them are made out of metal, but this one looks like cardboard. An early 1960s piece. It would be fun to have the entire rack.
Fantastic cardboard Vernor's ad with aliens! They are "fishing" from their spacecraft for a six-pack of Vernor's.
Of course no one ever keeps the box the ice cream bars came in. But, would love to have one of these!
